Our first idea is intended to be totally different from existing captcha technique used. So we thought of using "moving" objects. We found this example on a iphone application. It's about shapes (square, triangle, circles etc) moving around. Having a CAPTCHA keyword in the middle came to our mind. Or we can replace the shapes with "characters".
